SAIC is seeking a Senior Security Engineer. Provide network security services support for an enterprise network of about 40 sites.  Manage firewall and security appliances and support MFA, remote access, network access control (NAC), WAF, DDOS and network-based malware protection systems.  Assist the cyber security team with creation of security related reports, setting of network monitor thresholds and general oversight of the network security health.  Respond to operational requests day to day and act as the escalation point for network security incident resolution.  Working closely with the SAIC security team and the client’s other vendors, review new service requests, update process and standards and assist with the development of SOP's, runbooks and other Operational resources.  Report regular status of projects and operational issues to the Service Delivery Manager. 

This Role Performs:

• Management of all security equipment supporting the enterprise for both project and operational requirements
• Evaluation of new network security technology in support of client initiatives
• Analysis of firewall policies and configuration to ensure they are in use, least privilege and satisfy business requirements
• Review and completion of firewall requests
• Test network security systems for redundancy and resiliency
• Support IDS/IPS and other security appliances including MFA, remote access devices, NAC, WAF, DDOS and network based malware protection
• The position maintains technical expertise in all areas of network security support

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience on network security
• If not Bachelor Degree, Highschool plus 8 years experience will suffice
• Strong experience with Palo Alto security products
• Strong experience with MFA and remote access VPN technologies
• Experience designing and deploying security technologies
• Experience designing and deploying network access control and web application firewalls
• Experience managing large application build and move projects
• Strong background with Service and Change Management

Desired Qualifications

• Ability to present very complex technical concepts in understandable language
• Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
• Professional level certifications with Palo Alto or other security vendors
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs
