Description

SAIC is looking for a Senior Animator/Rigging Artist to join our game development  team at the Army Game Studio in Huntsville, AL.

 Responsibilities: 

You must be creative, talented, and self-motivated.  You will be involved in the animation pipeline using the OptiTrack motion capture system and motion builder to capture complex movements for a variety of projects. You will also use Maya to create character rigs and animations as well as maintain and modify a library of technical and animation assets. 

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

  • An Interim Secret Clearance is required to obtain employment; Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in motion capture and key frame animation.
  • Experience building character rigs.
  • Experience with Motion Capture hardware and software.
  • Experience in Maya and Motion Builder.
  • Solid knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics, and animation principles.
  • Strong problem-solving approach and attitude.
  • Experience with Unity and/or Unreal.
  • Experience with scripting in Python/Pymel.
  • Experience with source control solutions.
  • Initiative and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Software
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Artists, Designers, and other Technical Artists.
  • Work with art and design leads to make our products more immersive through animation.

Desired Skills:

  • C++ or C# experience.
  • Experience with real-time physics systems.
  • Pipeline development experience
  • FX, lighting, modeling, texturing, or concept tasks.
  • Experience with one or more scripting/programming languages.
  • Experience in Houdini, After Effects, and supporting tools
  • Traditional art and animation skills
