Description

SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a newly awarded contract with the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Support team.

This program’s support to NIWC LANT will include Research and Development, Test and Evaluation, Prototype Fielding Kit Development, Engineering Documentation Development, Software Engineering, Integration, Training and Sustainment of the following systems Communication Emitter Sensing and Attacking System (CESAS), Tactical SIGINT Collection System (TSCS), and Marine Air Ground Task Force Electronic Warfare Ground Family of Systems (MEGFoS). 

Work will be performed on-site in Charleston, South Carolina.  

Develops static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee).   

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies, which affect subordinate organization(s).

PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

IMPACT: Guides the successful completion of major programs. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.

LIASON: Represents organization as prime technical contact on contracts and projects. Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other engineering related field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in C4ISR related programs, to include: Technology Analysis and Assessment, Design Definition, Development of Systems Specification, Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Systems/Equipment Integration, Test & Evaluation Criteria, and Logistics support ofC4ISR requirements
  • Five (5) years of technical experience in support of network, system architecture, and the interoperability of USMC intelligence system collection and analysis platform, development, testing, and implementation of requirements, specific product and systems
  • Experience may be achieved simultaneously

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • Must have an active Secret with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
