SAIC provides full-service facility management support to a major organization in the Intelligence community. We conduct end-to-end project management and facility engineering functions for locations throughout the world.  At the HQ-level we perform all manner of planning, programming and execution oversight for a portfolio in the hundreds of millions per year.  

SAIC is seeking a top-notch Project Manager with an electrical engineering background to join our talented team in Chantilly, VA. This position is responsible for providing project management expertise for the coordination, planning, and work prioritization of assigned design and construction projects at remote locations, CONUS & OCONUS, ranging in value from $50K to $20M or more. 

The ideal candidate serves as the lead for the U.S Government (USG) facilities management organization and acts as the interface with 3rd party USG contracting representatives, design & construction contractors, Site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support contractors, local utilities and all other customers and stakeholders on matters related to customer requirements, project prioritization and execution. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the five phases of the project life cycle to include requirements development, programming, design, construction, and closeout. 

Other Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as liaison, reporting to & coordinating with USG representatives at multiple levels. 

  • Oversee design and construction contractor’s project execution, ensuring projects meet the USG customer’s time, budget, and technical requirements. 

  • Coordinate with the Sites Facilities O&M support contractor for resource allocation and document control. 

  • Ensure that significant facilities issues, which arise from milestone acquisition reviews (e.g., Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), etc.) and place demands on Power, Space, and Cooling capabilities 

  • Assist in the evaluation of the electrical system related anomalies and perform root cause analysis. 

  • Independently review and provide response to electrical technical request for information (RFI), shop drawings and construction submittals in support of construction efforts. 

  • Ensure the USG receives valid cost proposals. 

  • Communicating project metrics and challenges efficiently and effectively. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 9+ years of relevant experience in IC, DOD or Commercial Sector or 10 years' experience with facilities electrical systems in lieu of degree 

  • Knowledge of facility operations & maintenance activities and procedures. 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to team with industry partners. 

  • Demonstrated experience with project and construction estimating. 

  • Demonstrated track record of adhering to tight schedules with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. 

  • Ability to manage multiple and competing resources. 

  • Demonstrated project management skills associated with managing performance, budget, schedules, and adhering to control gates. 

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local building and safety codes. 

  • TS/SCI with polygraph. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with Facility Electrical and Mechanical systems. 

  • Experience with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tool. 

  • Experience in schedule analysis. 

  • Experience with Data Centers. 

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (any State). 

  • Project Management Professional (via PMI) or equivalent certification.
