SAIC has an opportunity for an IT Audio/Visual (A/V) Subject Matter Expert (SME).  This position is located in Pearl City, Hawaii. 
 
The focus area for this opportunity in support of the USINDOPACOM K. Mark Takai Pacific Warfighting Center (KMT PWC) for the Joint Exercise Program (JEP). The Joint Exercise Program (JEP) is the principal means for Combatant Commanders (CCDRs) to maintain trained and ready forces, exercise their contingency plans, and support their theater campaign plan engagement activities. Combatant Commanders (CCDRs) rely on these exercise to maintain trained and ready forces, exercise their contingency plans, and support their theater campaign plan engagement activities. They foster comradery and familiarity between militaries, increase interoperability, drive out capability gaps, and increase readiness.  Furthermore, they reduce the trust deficit and build bridges with strategic competitors.
 
The IT A/V SME will work within our team, helping to provide Audio and Visual support in the operation and maintenance of the virtual and physical infrastructure in deployed and on-premises computing environments. He/she must be equipped and able to work in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment. The person is responsible for providing operational support across a wide-range of virtualized Microsoft Windows, client systems, and A/V services. 
 
This person will serve as part of a talented team that collectively demonstrate excellent technical competency, reliability in delivering mission critical infrastructure, and who continually ensure the highest levels of accessibility, optimization, and security. 
 
Responsibilities/Duties

  • Provide systems and network support in preparation for and during events at the Pacific Warfighting Center and other deployed locations.
  • Up to 25% travel.
  • Support VTC's for J7 and Pacific Warfighting Center
  • May be called upon to work in shifts  or early morning calls with DC or EUCOM
  • Provide Tier II troubleshooting support for VTC and A/V equipment
  • Provide training to reservists and junior techs on VTC and A/V equipment
  • Create training materials and write SOPs
  • Conduct comms check before events
  • Conduct regular health check of equipment 
  • Manage equipment 'lifecycle':
  • Conduct research into new and better A/V technologies
  • Make recommendations for procurement
  • Assemble BOMs (Build of Materials)
  • Work with engineering teams to design and install new equipment
  • Monitor procurement process and provide status updates
  • Make sure we have backups of critical components (e.g., projector lamps)
  • Track warranties, licenses and renewals
  • DRMO old equipment
  • May be required to support overseas events
  • Need to be able to meet host country entry requirements

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

Qualifications:

  • Proven working experience in the above fields including installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based environments.
  • Basic networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, Exchange Server 2016 through 2019, and SharePoint 2016/2019.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking, Office applications, and Windows clients.
  • Knowledge in managing basic SharePoint permissions and site content.  Create, disable and monitor user accounts and group permissions within Active Directory.
  • Basic understanding of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and the use of PKI to secure network communications and systems.  
  • Working knowledge of telephony and teleconferencing technologies (Phone Bridges, [EC]-VOIP, Polycom, STE, ViPER, Red Switch, Omni) 
  • Working knowledge of VTC and supporting technologies
  • Working knowledge of Cisco, Poly, Extron and AMX devices and equipment
  • Working knowledge of collaborative tools like GVS, Teams, WebEx, and Zoom
  • Familiar with DISA STIG and SRG's as it relates to VTC equipment
  • Familiar with OPSEC rules as it relates to VTC operations
  • Seeking candidates with strong communication and leadership skills, initiative, and positive team-player attitude.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital audio mixers
  • Knowledge of python programming is desired but not required
  • Able to safely lift 50 lbs
  • Able to safely work on ladders

Clearance:

US Citizen with an Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret 

Required Certification:

Candidate must possess a Security+ certification prior to starting.
