JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC works with our customers on missions that strengthen security and safety and protect the basic values of our society. We have an opening for a motivated, dedicated and energetic Sr. Software Engineer to support a recently awarded program supporting the Intelligence Community. 

Selected candidate/s will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements. Work individually or as part of a team. Review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolve software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.  

Other duties include developing software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas; Modifying existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards; confering with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces; and coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; or eighteen (18) years experience as a SWE. 
• General technology experience required includes: three (3) yrs experience with LINUX/UNIX • C, C++ or Java • PERL, PYTHON, or BASH • Agile Software Development; three (3) yrs experience with XML/XSD or Google Protocol Buffers • Google Remote Procedure Call (gRPC), ESB, CORBA or ICE • DSP or protocol processing in software • TDOA and FDOA • Software Defined Radio (SDR) • REDHAWK • JIRA or Git • JBuilder or Eclipse
• Additional tools/technology experience required based on individual TTO requirements.
• Position requires TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
