Job Description


SAIC is looking for a System Administrator to support our US Navy customer provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) support and develop IV&V test documentation (test plans/procedures and reports or independent assessments); and test support in support of the design and implementation of the OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) that require the integration of diverse and complex components for customer’s enterprise network.

This program has been been newly awarded to SAIC and is expected to begin March of 2023.

Work is performed both on-site in San Diego, CA as well as remote flexwork in the local area.

Job Duties:

  • Perform testing for server and client systems, network devices and hardware in coordination with, and under the existing construct of, the ONE-Net IV&V Team.
  • Develop and document test procedures, perform the tests and provide results. Test procedures shall describe the proposed tests and inspections to prove equipment/system are thoroughly evaluated for conformance to equipment/system specifications.
  • Conduct independent report of findings, identifying, recommending and correcting issues before and after test execution, and validating test results.
  • Test for: Workmanship, all Environmental Factors, Maintainability, Reliability, Connectivity, Availability, Supportability, and Final Inspections, as defined in system/equipment specifications.
  • Develop test procedures that consider partitioning to enhance fault isolation, initialization of circuitry under test control, module interface for test access and control, circuit controllability and examination, test point placements, and Built In Test (BIT) fault isolation approach.
  • Develop and document a SOVT Planning and Execution Guide (SPEG) compliant SOVT package, perform SOVT testing, and provide the results to the Government.
  • Produce SOVT documentation, ensuring SOVT test cases verify all solution installations are installed, configured, integrated with the existing network and are in line with the Shore Installation Process, as specified by Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) and SPEG.
  • Validate the functionality of the solution and the results are as expected for what the solution requires.
  • Validate both new and existing Engineering Technical Solutions per engineering documentation for completeness and correctness, and verify and validate all installation documents.
  • Verify the solution for configurations settings; and ensure interoperability of existing network systems, and functionality of the solution.


Required Education, Certifications, Experience:

  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more relevant experience preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in lieu of degree may be considered
  • IAT Level I required (Sec +)
  • Secret Clearance required

Desired Skills:

  • Administrative or developer skillset with Windows Server, Remote Desktop Services and Network Storage technology with a minimum of 1 year of Microsoft MCSA or MSCE with Windows Server 2012 or 2016. 
  • Dell EMC Hardware
  • IT Systems Engineering experience with expertise in enterprise architecture with emphasis in testing server services.
