SAIC is seeking an Enterprise Data Engineer to fill a critical position on the LANDMARK AOS program. The position will be located in Chantilly, VA or Denver, CO.  All candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

LANDMARK AOS is a large SETA contract, supporting the customer’s Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.

This position will provide specialized engineering expertise supporting the acquisition of multi-intelligence (multi-INT) cloud-based data framework services across multiple security enclaves. SAIC’s client is tasked with leading the integration of mission focused tools to foster increased efficiency, automation and information sharing. The qualified candidate will assist and advise Government managers responsible for the complete end-to-end life cycle of the customer's Ground Enterprise.  You will perform data engineering on the I2SPO Integrated Data Layer to ensure an approach that is data-centric; meets mission needs for performance, scalability & flexibility; and retains agility.  You will work with the I2SPO Framework developer and mission applications to evaluate specific tools, technologies, approaches and data structures for data-centric implementation of the Integrated Data Layer.  You will be responsible to coordinate definition, implementation, integrations, testing and deployment using an agile DevSecOps approach.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to technical and architectural direction of data evolution roadmap that includes data ingestion, storage, reporting, data science analytics through gathering requirements, guiding stakeholders to best-practices in building modern data solutions (AWS technology stack)
  • Partner directly with the application teams to propose, define, implement and track new mission solutions and technologies
  • Analyze structured and semi-structured data sets from a variety of sources; design, document, and manage enterprise data models and processes; and develop new data flows in support of mission analytics
  • Execute a data governance program that creates mission value from enterprise data while adhering to applicable compliance requirements
  • Apply systems analysis and design methodology assessments to identify technical debt, architectural runway and efficiency trade-offs against current and proposed/desired cloud-based software system design
  • Develop briefings and documentation material including developing technical roadmaps and the acquisition strategies/documentation to implement them
  • Lead SAFe agile process evolution across Government teams, development contractors, user engagement teams, and stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly required
  • Strong engineering background with knowledge of cloud software architectures
  • Experience supporting system architecture, design or development in an AWS/C2S environment
  • Domain knowledge in Agile software development practices
  • Demonstrated capability and success working in team environments
  • Strong oral and written communications ability on significant technical matters often requiring coordination within a high-tempo environment
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications

Desired Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in designing and developing data modeling with a minimum of 3 of those years specializing in big data architecture or data analytics

Advanced data modeling skills

Demonstrated experience in managing technical, cost and schedule performance of software development programs

Experience in DevSecOps delivery of software capabilities for AWS/C2S optimized environments

Experience monitoring developer progress via agile metrics, identifying risks, discrepancies, and performance issues

Certification in agile software development methods (Scrum, SAFe)

Amazon Web Services (AWS) certification


Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
