Job Description


SAIC is seeking an experienced Digital Engineer / PLM Solution Architect to join our energized Engineering Innovation Factory Team to define and build the software and infrastructure that fuels Digital Engineering Transformation across our entire industry. Our work creating a model based, integrated digital ecosystem spans an exciting variety of programs, customers and corporate initiatives requiring Digital Engineering and Model Based Enterprise deployed in Defense, Federal Civilian, and/or National Security environments. This is a Remote position and can be worked anywhere in the U.S.

In this position, you will lead the technical development team in the planning, design, construction, and implementation of our Digital Ecosystem’s digital thread backbone. The Solution Architect has overall technical ownership of the data model, CICD process and packaging strategy.  Demonstration of technical leadership, large team management, organization skills, and the ability to negotiate with key customer stakeholders are essential in ensuring success.

You will be a source of both thought leadership and practical engineering while you develop and continuously improve our Digital Thread platform to capture stakeholder and system requirements, facilitate discussion and understanding of digital solutions, and enhance the digital engineering culture. You will engage with other digital engineers directly supporting programs, foster broader understanding of PLM, and assist them in using Digital Engineering work products

Successful candidate in this position will bring a record of application of PLM methods and creative thought-leadership to mature and develop innovative digital engineering solutions. You will engage with the larger community (Industry, Government, and Academia) to stay up to date with latest trends and emerging technologies, approaches, methods, and techniques to further mature and or increase our digital engineering capabilities. As part of the team, you will be required to mentor others on our solutions and standards, as well as support proposals and business development activities. Demonstrated presentation and writing skills are required.



Required Educations/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years of experience, Master’s degree and 7+ years of experience, or PhD or JD and 4+ years of experience. Prefer degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of PLM deployment & customization experience is required
  • Proven track record in leading large, enterprise PLM software deployments in an Architect role
  • Demonstrated experience with agile software development and related tools (DevOps, CI/CD)
  • 5+ years of experience using Aras Enterprise PLM in a consulting and/or developer role, additional PLM system experience favorable
  • Experience supporting US Federal Government agencies and processes
  • Capable of receiving TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in C#, JavaScript, .NET, SQL, XML, JSON, Python
  • Experience in system architecture and data modelling (SaaS and SOA)
  • Familiarity or experience with Agile methodologies and the roles of Product Owner, scrum master, etc and Agile tools (e.g., ADO, Jira, RTC, etc.)
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Skills:


  • Ability and Desire to mentor and grow team members
  • OMG Certified System Modeling Professional (OSCMP)
  • Exposure to multidisciplinary analysis and optimization tools (Model Center, Simulia, etc.)
  • Experience with Life Cycle Engineering tools (Doors Next Gen, Rational Quality Manager, Aras Innovator, etc..)
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a dynamic, fast paced, team oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to independently execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills
  • Industry knowledge of any of the following: Model Based Systems Engineering, Configuration & Change Management (EIA649/CM2), Phase Gate Project Management, Quality Management, FMEA, Manufacturing Processes, MRO/Sustainment

Target salary range: $175,001 - $185,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
