SAIC in support of our Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer to act as our Missile Warning Next Generation GEO Team Lead with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space and Ground systems. This person will support the acquisition of a multi-billion dollar set of Geosynchronous Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) remote sensing satellites used to identify threats globally to the US and our allies. This position is located in El Segundo, California.
Major duties of the position include:

Ensuring effective integration of Next Gen GEO (NGG) with Mission Payloads (MPLs), Auxiliary Payloads (APS), Launch Vehicles, NGG Interim Operations (NIO) ground system, and objective Future Operationally Resilient Ground Operations (FORGE)

Coordinating NGG integration requirements for acquisition planning elements across the Missile Warning Capability Area

Applying lessons learned from managing similar space system efforts to ensure successful planning, development, production, transition to operations, and sustainment of the NGG program

Interacting with contractor and government leads to ensure that all system and interface requirements are consistent and valid across NGG program and the Missile Warning Capability Area

Supporting the customer in defining, capturing, and maintaining the technical, schedule, and cost risks throughout the NGG program lifecycle and developing risk mitigation courses of action and assessing impacts of risks and proposed changes

Developing acquisition-related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support of the NGG program and Missile Warning Capability Area decision making
Qualifications
This is you:
-
Bachelor’s Degree is required. BS in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering (technical), Math, Physics, or similar

14+ years of strong, demonstrated system engineering experience with space, ground, operations and sustainment segments of a DoD or NRO program with a proven delivery record
-
Candidate should have experience with Space systems (especially at SSC), OPIR systems, ground and space system acquisition, and system engineering experience

Experience with requirements and interface management, risk management, change boards and change board environment

Ability to provide a wide variety of technical analyses and program management support to a government customer
-
Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings

SBIRS-specific experience highly desirable.

Digital Engineering Experience, particularly in MBSE and or Integrated Analysis

RSSE&I
Target salary range: $175,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
