SAIC is looking for a Drafter / CAD Operator II for our Eastgate/Bedford and Westgate/Crane office.  This person must have knowledge of drafting practices for mechanical and schematic layout.

Typical duties include revising drawing markups, creating drawings for conceptual, developmental, and production level drawing packages; population of parts list and wire list, and drafting redraws, with 3D parametric part modeling, for electronic format from researched data.  Must be capable of routinely interfacing with military, civilian and contractor personnel. This person should be able to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction. Candidate must be detailed oriented and have the ability to generate comprehensive models and drafts from sketches, drawings, or verbal instruction with basic understanding of ASME Y14 drafting standards and GD&T.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Associate’s Degree and 2+ years of experience in related field or High School Diploma and 4+ years of experience in related field.
• Position requires a Secret Clearance. Employment can be started while awaiting clearance approval.  Possession of an existing clearance is a benefit.
• Utilization of Configuration Management and ability to follow DoD Standard Operating Procedures with use of DoD Share Point and file servers for data management.
• Must have experience utilizing 3D parametric software with preferred disciplines in Solid Edge, CREO, and/or Solid Works.
