Description

SAIC is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to join our team in Washington D.C.  The selected candidate will work independently supporting customer requests for new desktop and laptop computers including imaging and deployment of computers or requests to move existing equipment. Candidate will be responsible for installation and troubleshooting including network connections, hardware, operating systems, and corporate applications support (both commercial and in-house); troubleshooting and repairing primarily Windows-based operating systems, McAfee encryption, Windows configuration, Internet access, attachment to network printing, email and Microsoft Office, and implementing security policies as required. Ability to provide training and technical guidance for users. 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

 

 

  •  AA Degree in related discipline and three (3) years related experience; Or, High School and five (5) years related experience with relavent certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and technology, i.e., Remote Desktop, Teams.
  • Proven experience of having provided the highest quality of customer service in a fast-paced IT service environment
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines on a variety of activities
  • Willingness to learn and continually upgrade technical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience working in an IT service operation using ITIL best practices and experience managing ticket queue
  • Candidate must be eligible to receive a Public Trust clearance which an interim clearance must be obtained prior to start

Desired Skills and Certification:

  • Strong experience in Windows system administration (desktop and server) and troubleshooting (system setup, account management, backup/restore, network
  • CompTIA A+
  • Active Public Trust clearance
