The Advanced Plans Orbital Analyst requires a detailed understanding of orbital mechanics.  The position requires an ability to assist the customer with development and verification of requirements dealing with the amount of delta-V needed to support all necessary functions of the spacecraft mission.  The position requires that a successful candidate demonstrate a technical understanding of space systems, orbital mechanics, and the ability to create models to analyze verification data.  The position also includes a working knowledge of RF systems.  The candidate will perform Systems Engineering activities related to Engineering to include: 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track, monitor, analyze, and verify all spacecraft orbit capabilities.
  • Supports development and verification of delta-V requirements.
  • Supports payload calibration activities by analyzing real-time data and providing feedback to the government.
  • Assist in requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, and system & operational performance analysis.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications. 
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Plans and executes modeling and simulation systems development projects. Designs and develops simulation systems and modeling of simulation objects.
  • Other duties as specified by the COTR and Program Manager.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline
  • Previous Orbital Analysis experience
  • Previous experience developing software models
  • Basic understanding of satellite systems and architectures
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem solving skills
  • Experience in NRO, IC, and DoD satellite programs
  • 5+ years of experience with STK
  • 5+ years of experience with Matlab
  • 3+ years of experience with Python and QT Designer
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with CI Poly.
