SAIC is seeking a Creo Modelling Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the OMES II contract in support of the OSAM-1 (On-orbit Servicing Assembly and Manufacturing) program in the (NExIS) Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. This position is located in Greenbelt, MD, but remote candidates may be considered.

The OSAM-1 (formerly Restore-L) mission is a robotic servicing mission designed to refuel a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. It contains 3 elements: the Flight Element comprised of the OSAM-1 Space Vehicle (SV) and development testbeds, the Ground Element comprised of the systems required to conduct SV operations and the supporting networks and facilities, and the Launch Element comprised of the Launch Vehicle and supporting facilities and services. GSFC is responsible for the design, engineering, development, test and operations of the OSAM-1 Mission through an integrated team at GSFC. The Servicing Payload design, development and SV integration will be conducted at GSFC.

Job Description:

The engineer will provide expert-level support for all Creo activities related to the OSAM-1 mission, including mentoring/training of other designers and implementation of technical processes to enable production of higher-quality models. This position may be performed remotely within the United States, and is expected to be for a duration of approximately 1 year.

Job duties include:

  • Evaluate model health and develop an improvement plan
  • Directly make modifications to models per the issues identified in the health evaluation/improvement plan
  • Work with the GSFC Creo/Windchill Support Team (CWST) to resolve model health issues for released items that don’t involve a change to form, fit, or function.
  • The Creo consultant will work with individuals to resolve the problems identified by the CWST for models in development.
  • Remove circular references, spurious assembly cuts etc.
  • Work with individual users to resolve CAD health problems
  • Document metrics to show model health
  • Identify user training needs based on consistent model health issues
  • Develop CREO models & assemblies as needed to support I&T activities

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Broad, in depth knowledge and experience with Windchill and the following functionalities in conjunction with CREO: CAD Data Management, Change/Configuration Management, and Bills of Material.
  • Experience using CREOat Goddard Space Flight Center
  • Previous CREO technical support experience
  • Mastery working with CREO large assemblies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
