Description

SAIC is seeking a Strategic Execution Lead for a large Systems Integration (SI) program.  This leader will be a direct report to the SI Program Director and part of the SI leadership team. This position can be located in either Chantilly, VA or Aurora, CO and requires a TS clearance minimum.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining priorities, ensuring day-to-day workflow aligns with those priorities, managing performance baseline for program and resolving key issues and concerns.  The candidate is responsible for identifying, understanding future work, risks, issues, and leading, influencing and SI engineering artifacts and day-to-day personnel priorities to translate that into action plans. The candidate should have sufficient technical depth and aptitude to provide strategic recommendations on engineering plans to ensure program success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive integration and common understanding across the Systems Integration organization to ensure appropriate visibility, alignment and coordination against priority initiatives
  • Coordinate across programmatic lanes (e.g. schedules, financial) and technical lanes (e.g. engineering, architecture) efficiently and effectively, with ability to ensure end-to-end closure throughout execution, identify shortfalls, and adjust program plans throughout the organization with ability to influence key decisions, and escalate issues at the appropriate time
  • Maintain strong understanding with ability to brief to senior stakeholders and executives program schedule, and financial performance.  Represent program touchpoints and key areas of closure
  • Work with the Program Manager in the monitoring and analysis of schedule, cost and resource planning to ensure projects are completed on time and fulfill the objectives of the program
  • Coordinate cross-asset team efforts focusing on design and execution of risk management
  • Lead a team of on-site integration experts to interface with development program activities, broader System Integration and Segment contractors to ensure on-time, high quality capability delivery
  • Represent the equities of the Ground Segment program office and translate strategic guidance and requirements, to manage programmatic and technical risks

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and 18 years or more experience; Masters and 16 years or more experience; PhD and 15 years related experience

  • Experience in leading and managing engineering and/or development teams in Systems Integration, Systems Engineering or Development organizations
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to advise, influence at a senior (Customer Executives, Senior Leaders) and direct report level within the business
  • Ability to absorb information quickly and summarize key issues or concerns while aligning to strategic goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong collaborative partnerships with others both internally and externally at all levels
  • Enthusiastic team player who has proven to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • Proven good judgment—what issues to escalate, what to resolve on your own
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team with little to no supervision

Desired Skills include:

  • 15+ years’ work experience in engineering, integration or development organizations
  • Experience in building and managing multi-year schedules, dependencies and communicating performance data to Senior Customers and stakeholders 
  • Experience in managing earned value programs, developing and managing program baselines
  • Experience is “System of Systems” Integration programs; understanding of nuances of cross-system, multi-vendor work environments
  • Understanding of Agile framework and cadence, experience in applying agile in IC/DoD programs

Desired Education, Experience, and Qualifications:    

  • Specific IC/DoD Customer experience  

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Current TS clearance with ability to obtain SCI
