Description

SAIC is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support NASA Langley Research Center’s Office of Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) specializing in SAP BOBJ and Microsoft (MS) Excel Analytics and Power Platform.  NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) is located in Hampton, VA.  SAIC is the prime contractor on the Enterprise Applications Service Technologies (EAST) 2 contract at NASA LaRC supporting this project. 

 

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include performing data and technical analysis, design, development, and testing of data connections, universes, and dashboards/reports.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build reports/visualizations/solutions within the analytic framework (SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ), MS Excel Analytics, Tableau, and Power Platform).
  • Review functional requirements, performance criteria, and data consumption needs to support the design of technical components.
  • Design and development of analytical queries, reports and visualizations utilizing the Enterprise Business Objects Suite of tools.
  • Analyze, design, code and test break/fix requests and enhancements to analytic dashboard solutions.
  • Provide SAP BOBJ report development and support.
  • Provides SAP BOBJ technical-level user support, business-level user support, and appropriate training for users.
  • Extract and transform financial data using Power Query and Power Pivot.
  • Develop and Support applications using Visual Basic and macros.
  • Analyze data, build solutions, and automate processes using Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
  • Years of experience accepted in lieu of degree. 

 

Desired Education & Experience:

  • B.S./B.A. in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Systems, or relevant field.
  • 3-5 years BOBJ development experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience with Microsoft Excel Analytics (Power Query, PowerPivot, etc.), Microsoft Excel development experience (VBA, Macros), and Microsoft Power Platform experience (Tableau, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).

 

Required Skills: 

  • UI5 or JavaScript experience.
  • Ability to develop reports using WEBi in Microsoft Excel format.
  • Ability to source data from SQL server and Oracle.
  • Ability to create and link universes.

 

Primary Skills:

  • BO Webi, BOBJ, BODS, Universes in IDT/UDT, Report scheduling, Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Microsoft Excel Analytics (Power Query, PowerPivot, etc.).
  • Microsoft Excel development experience (VBA, Macros).
  • Microsoft Power Platform experience (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).

 

Desired Skills:

  • SharePoint development experience.

 

Clearance: 

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
