SAIC is seeking a licensed psychologist available 24/7 for remote counseling to program personnel via various communications such as phone, skype, or Zoom. In recognition of the stress of program participants, recommend individual and group therapy/workshops.  At times, may need to TDY to CONUS location(s) to meet with personnel. Promoting, assessing and optimizing the health and safety of SAIC personnel/workplace is always a priority. The ideal candidate has a strong assessment skills and have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.The selected candidate will apply professional psychological knowledge and skills to conduct mission-related risk assessments, consultations, and trainings.   

Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate personnel’s emotional, behavioral and mental state through discussion, observation and analysis
  • Diagnose psychological disorders and provide evidence-based psychotherapy and consultations
  • Conduct diagnostic interviews and therapy sessions using evidence-based and brief therapeutic models.
  • Provide support for fatigue management and a national health care referral capability/networks
  • Provide crisis response and follow-up care in the event of serious incidents.
  • Provide psychological briefings, program development tasks and training and development and implementation for group therapy and workshops.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and current records of all clinical services rendered, includes initial evaluations, progress notes, summary notes and all other necessary documentation
  • Consult with management and other medical staff as needed

Qualifications

Required:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • Masters degree in Clinical Psychology or related with 15 – 20 years of prior relevant experience or a Doctorate with 13 – 16 years of prior relevant experience. Degree must be from an APA-accredited program with an APA-accredited clinical internship successfully completed
  • Current and valid license in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or US Territory.
  • Experience conducting assessments and clinical interviews to include documenting clinical findings
  • Ability to diagnose psychological disorders and provide evidence-based psychotherapy
  • Strong clinical abilities, and enthusiasm for a collaborative approach to treatment.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills; thoughtful and compassionate
  • Strong observation skills
  • Detail-Oriented

Desired:

  • Experience working with the following populations: intelligence community/national security settings; Department of Defense (military or civilian)
  • Family counseling experience
  • Training in critical incident/stress trauma interventions.
     
  • Experience in overseas environment

Target salary range: $200,001 - $225,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
