JOB DESCRIPTION: 

SAIC is currently seeking a motivated and customer-oriented IT Manager to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary IT Services (USACE RITS) program.

NOTE: This is a 100% virtual / work from home / remote position located anywhere in the CONUS.

The successful candidate will support the direction of the program, develop, guide and monitor all aspects of schedule, administration and performance within the compute and storage services and the program. Candidate will also be responsible for coordination and collaboration with Government officials, to keep them informed and up to date on the program status as it relates to compute and storage. In this role, you will be overseeing the operations of VMWare, Storage, UNIX, and Web teams. This position will have 4 to 5 direct reports with teams of 5 to 20 employees under those direct reports.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leads multiple teams in best practices for delivery of new capabilities, and ensuring proper functionality of existing capabilities.
  • Organizes and creates standard operating procedures for services that fall under their control.
  • Strives to create continual improvement for the program and for their customer’s services.
  • Oversees and ensures the day-to-day operational maintenance and  support
  • Ensures scheduled installations and upgrades are maintained in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Performs analysis of business and user needs, requirements, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper requirements specifications
  • Ensures proper performance of tasks necessary to achieve the most efficient and effective execution of the teams objectives. 
  • Communicates status, requirements, metrics with leadership and customers.  
  • Maintains focus on organizing and managing time and resources for the program deliverables.
  • Develop/streamline processes to ensure mission accomplishment and program deliverables
  • Ensures team leads are managing ticketing queues properly within IT policies set forth by the program.
  • Mentors, and promotes growth for all employees
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment while still utilizing a customer-centric mindset
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements over periods of performance.
  • Takes charge to solve problems that the program faces on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage an on-call roster for engineers and staff that support the program under their lead.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of related experience; four (4) years accepted in lieu of degree

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • 5 to 8 years of experience managing a team/team lead experience. 
  • Experience managing technical service teams such as servers, compute, storage, and web teams.
  • Must possess a Security+ CE certification.
  • Must be a US Citizen with an Active Secret Clearance
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time
  • Work hours based on east coast time zones

Desired:

  • ITIL v4 certified, CISSP, CASP+, AGILE or PM certifications

 

 


Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
