JOB DESCRIPTION: 

SAIC is seeking, Senior Policy Analyst. This is a full-time position.  The position involves the ability to conceptualize, organize, manage, and execute high-level events on topics related to the mission of combating weapons of mass destruction (CWMD) for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). Specifically, the candidate will have the ability to conduct literature and speaker searches across a range of CWMD areas of interest and develop event topics for in-person and on-line events that build awareness among the DTRA workforce. The candidate will also be responsible for planning and organizing events such as multi-day symposiums that address critical issues in the CWMD mission space. Plan, attend, and document key findings from meetings and conferences.  Strong organizational skills are required and the ability to interface with experienced technical staff, management, and senior government officials. Assist in the preparation of briefings, papers, and staff coordination packages. Additional duties may include determining event requirements, coordinating and arranging event activities and speakers as directed by the government leadership.  Oversee and perform administrative and logistical duties for meeting and event planning for DTRA related activities as well as handle and process classified material.  Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA.  There may be opportunities to telework. Employee may be required to travel domestically and overseas, as directed by the client. Total time spent on travel not expected to exceed 10%.

 

 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

Education & Experience: 

  • BA/BS degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience, Master’s and 4 years of experience.
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient research and analytical skills
  • Experience in MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance is required.  All applicants must be able to obtain a TS/SCI

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in the field of national security
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment with a diverse client base
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to problem-solve in a time constrained environment
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as appropriate
  • Ability to prioritize tasks through strong organizational skills
  • Military experience, or experience with contracting or the federal government a plus
