SAIC has an opening for a self-motivated Lead Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA. 

***This is a hybrid-remote role, requiring on-site work 2-3 times weekly, and remote work reaminder of the work week***

This specialist shall serve as technical advisor for UHF, BISOG and TVS programs.  The program portfolio contains elements of legacy sustainment and modernization of radio communication systems throughout the Fleet.  As the program Lead Systems Engineer, this resource shall assist the APM with technical oversight, coordinating technical actions, and developing technical and strategic documentation to keep it in line with NAVWAR and PMW/A 170 standards and practices. 

Qualifications

***This position REQUIRES U.S. citizenship and, at minimum, an interim DoD secret-level clearance. All candidates without an active clearance will be immediately disqualified.***

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, engineering preferred, from an accredited college or university
  • At least one year of UHF Tactical Communications experience; knowledge of BISOG and TVS programs a plus
  • Proficient with VISIO and/or MBSE tool sets 
  • Good working understanding of the NAVWAR organization and mission on arrival
  • At least 3 recent years supporting NAVWAR program requirements and processes at a PMW or similarly situated organizatio
  • Ability to initiate and perform most tasking with minimal government direction
  • Strong teamwork/collaboration, written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated organizational and analytical skills desired
  • Technical schedule management

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Requirements definition
  • Engineering Change Order/Requests (ECO/ECR)
  • Drawing creation and review
  • Test Architecture
  • Technical Analysis and Recommendations (risk, cost, COAs, supportability, enhancements to legacy reliability, etc., leveraging lessons learned)
  • Technical schedule management
  • Technical Strategy (including inputs to Acquisition strategy and documentation)
  • Process definition and implementation (risk, config. Mgmt., reporting, etc.)
  • Technical Team Guidance
  • DADMS management
  • SPIDER management

SYSTEM ACCESS REQUIREMENT:

  • NMCI NIPR, SIPR, SPIDER, DITPR-DON

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 

  • U.S. citizenship with an ACTIVE Secret security clearance.
