SAIC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Associate to support the US Navy in Bedford, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position requires the candidate to be responsible for performing activities involving the assembling and integration of military and commercial systems including modification of military platforms. Candidates must have a basic understanding of cable assembly and cable molding, both rubber and urethane.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Read and understand cable schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Knowledge of cabling, harnesses, molding, and application
  • Work directly with both shop leads and management to ensure process and schedules are met
  • Work directly with customers to assist in finding solutions to issues they may be having
  • Be familiar with current project capabilities and also know where improvements can be made

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Bachelors and 0 years’ experience.
  • Preferred background in engineering, business, sales, or procurement.
  • Understand cable requirements from certifications such as J-STD-001 to MIL-STD cabling.
  • Ability to read schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, flow charts and use logical troubleshooting techniques
  • Must have good communication skills, interface well with others
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Able to plan and execute daily and weekly scheduled tasks
  • Able to keep work area clean and organized
  • Excellent team player with organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to obtain a Full Secret Clearance; no clearance required to start, SAIC will help to obtain an interim Secret
