Description

The Senior (DBA) with Salesforce experience will have the experience and knowledge of business, functional and technical areas/disciplines, activities or events.  The candidate is responsible for working with customers to document and strategize for process, system and functional improvements within their area of expertise.  The candidate must also be able to perform research and provide solutions within the functional discipline and also conduct research on special areas as may be assigned.  The candidate must have experience with proposing new solutions to problems, issues or risks in the area of their functional expertise.  The Senior (DBA) will develop and maintain various and forms of potentially complex applications and relational database models.  These will be comprised of various languages, protocols and interfaces for the purpose of customer data management and dissemination.  The candidate will perform technical tasks using both standard and non-standard analysis, design, programming methods and relational database management techniques. The candidate will be required to apply analytical and evaluative techniques to solve, resolve, design capabilities and implement software solutions for technical and implementation problem resolution and lead database management teams in the daily activities of supporting the customer database management system. This is a full-time position located in Austin, TX.  Veterans are encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop reports in Salesforce per direction of multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Manage sync between SQL and PowerBI
  • Required to perform Database System monitoring
  • Perform database maintenance tasks, including tests and duplicate entry
  • Maintain, develop and improve key CRM and CPQ data, templates and workflows
  • Integrate custom reporting and business intelligence tools, including Salesforce reporting, SQL Server Reporting Services and Power BI
  • Monitor performance and tune, diagnose and repair data systems
  • Guide the setup of database clusters, backup or recover processes and cloud database implementation
  • Work with development staff to ensure that database deployments, access and security compliance measures are consistently met and with government guidelines and requirements
  • Status reporting to information technology management and any assigned project teams when required
  • Participate in regular customer meetings to report project status, progress, and risks/issues as applicable.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Understanding of the out-of-box Salesforce product suite, including Service, Community Cloud (Experience Cloud), App Cloud, and Einstein solutions.
  • Experience with both SQL and PL/SQL. 
  • Knowledge of Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Force.com.
  • Experience working with and/or supporting Salesforce integrations with tools such as MuleSoft is preferred.
  • Experience with meta-data migration between Salesforce (SFDC) Sandboxes and Production Orgs using Change Sets.
  • Experience with Release Management, Source Control, and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, SFDC Metadata API, GitHub, and Azure DevOps CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of system configuration using profiles, roles, workflows, approval processes, custom objects, validation rules, formulas, process builder, flows and Data Loader.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Technology, or other analytical or technical discipline preferred. (4-years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • A minimum of 5 years' progressive experience as a Database Administrator
  • Knowledge of MS SQL 2003, 2005, 2008R2, 2012 MS SQL 2016.
  • Experience with SQL Server Integration Services development, import, and export tools a plus.
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • A proven track record and expertise in database management techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and lead other DBAs
  • Seeks and shares knowledge of community

  • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
  • Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans' Affairs is preferred
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for persons in a position of public trust conducted by the VA/OPM
