SAIC has an opening for a Vice President to lead the company’s Pricing Department, which will report to the Senior Vice President of Business Enablement (Pricing/Contracts/Procurement/Compliance). This position will drive pricing and bid strategy across the customer base, focusing on initiatives that drive growth for the organization. The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner with leadership across the company to creatively identify areas for systemic improvement and business models across the enterprise and ensure SAIC’s ability to submit price proposals that comply with business system and customer requirements, and position SAIC for profitable growth.  This position is open to remote work. 

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Work with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams; foster collaboration between customer-facing Sector leadership, business development, price-to-win, and the Pricing team
  • Drive proposal-pricing strategy for Growth Technology Accelerants (GTA) as well as core business initiatives. GTAs include Secure Cloud, Enterprise IT and Systems Integration & Delivery.  Core business includes Engineering Services, IT & Technical Services and Logistics & Supply Chain.  SAIC will increase our pipeline and portfolio mix towards GTAs over the next few years, while we grow our core as well.  This leader must have the business acumen and sufficient understanding of SAIC’s technical offerings to support pricing strategy for all efforts, and guide teams to successful outcomes leveraging different business models (managed services, subscriptions, NTDC, OTAs, etc).
  • Work with leaders across SAIC to align strategic pricing to the corporate strategy, to include integrating acquired companies into our structure, evolving the company’s rate structures to address the competitive landscape, and identify creative methods to succeed in new markets
  • Utilize accurate and relevant information to aid in strategic proposal decision-making enterprise wide
  • Identify and take ownership for executing solutions to complex problems
  • Lead the company’s diverse team of pricing directors, managers, and analysts, fostering a culture of teamwork, continuous process improvement, and performance excellence
  • Maintain SAIC’s Estimating System, including the company’s Cost Estimating System Manual (CESM) and associated policy/instructions. Ensure the company’s compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) Estimating System criteria. Support Estimating System through Government audit.
  • Develop and submit the company’s annual forward pricing direct labor rate proposal to Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). Support audit and quarterly rate monitoring. Continue to evolve the structure to meet emerging business requirements
  • Integrate commercial items into Government contracts; facilitate change management leadership of commercial pricing philosophy and approach to improve margins and expand solutions-oriented services.
  • Lead training initiatives across Pricing and Business Enablement
  • Develop and manage annual Pricing budget

 

The successful candidate understands SAIC’s strategy, including the importance of maintaining the company’s core business as well as Growth Technology Accelerants (GTA).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and at least 15 years of Pricing experience in Government Contracting

  • Demonstrated leadership style that engenders strong followership, inspires extraordinary performance and leads teams to a stated vision

  • Executive presence, skilled influencer, savvy negotiation skills and excellent communicator

  • Experience communicating and collaborating with DCAA and DCMA

  • Proven experience leading winning pricing strategy for large, complex federal Government and other proposals

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing relationships across the enterprise with an emphasis on collaborative results

  • Flexible style; willing to adjust to changing scenarios when necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree (MBA, or relevant Master’s degree)
