Description

SAIC is looking for a Tier II Helpdesk Support PC Technician in Jacksonville, FL to support the US Army Corps of Engineers Revolutionary Information Technology Services (RITS) program. This position provides second-tier support to end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications, and hardware and handles problems that the first-tier help desk support is unable to resolve.

NOTE: Must be willing to work 8-hour shifts between 6am-6pm Monday through Friday. After hours support may be required on an infrequent basis. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tier II Helpdesk Support PC Technician performs technical, operational, and training support to users of personal computers either by telephone, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software packages. Job duties include:

  • Install and test personal computers, printers, and other peripherals
  • Configure operating system
  • Load shrink-wrap programs and other application software programs
  • Troubleshoot printer, computer, and peripheral incidents, perform hardware and software diagnostics and coordinate needed repairs
  • Resolve computer system problems, including coordination between users and components of a local area network
  • Participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • AA/AS Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline and three (3) years of applicable experience. Additional experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel when necessary
  • Experience supporting Windows 10, and MS Office 2013
  • Experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
  • Ability to coordinate and get cooperation from multiple areas within IT to accomplish assignments.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Current DoD 8570 IA Baseline Certification, IAT Level I (examples: A+ CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security certifications)
  • Must obtain appropriate DoD 8570 IA Computing Environment Certification within 6 months of employment.

REQUIRED CLEARANCE

  • Must be a US citizen able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, SAIC will help to obtain
