Description
Ground System Engineer to work in a Program Office (PO). The candidate should be familiar with space systems ground segment acquisitions and related Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of those systems. The candidate will provide direct support for major program acquisitions. This program procures satellite vehicles with associated ground segments. The ground segment consists of ground terminals, command and control (C2) software and hardware, and includes Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) and networks. The position will be located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
This individual will provide primary support to the development branch. Activities leverage understanding of full life-cycle system support, from procurement to O&M, including requirements analysis, requirements tracking, system design and development through system test, delivery, installation, and sell-off. There is a focus on ground terminal hardware development, testing, analysis, and requirements verification. Tasks include assessing the integration of hardware and software solutions at delivery sites.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Candidate will coordinate with customer and multiple external organizations. Desired experience in: (1) Risk Management; (2) Project schedule management; and (3) Technical evaluations of proposals
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
