SAIC is seeking a prospective Digital Terrain and Image Generation Developer to join our Modeling and Simulation Team working on 3D digital terrain development in support of DEVCOM AvMC. Primary work takes place in a collaborative lab environment Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Job Description and Responsibilities:

The terrain developer will work on large scale projects and tasks related to aviation and constructive synthetic environments. Daily responsibilities include the creation, management, development, transformation, and/or acquiring of geospatial data for use in the creation of Visual Terrain DataBases (VTDB’s) or Constructive Terrain DataBases (CTDB’s). The developer will have the responsibility to load, integrate, validate, and verify the VTDB/CTDB with vigorous testing and overcoming technical challenges that present themselves in a timely manner. The developer will need to work with various constructive simulation software suites and image generator suites in development of solutions for mutli-spectral imaging and analysis. The developer will execute documentation, configuration management, and archival procedures on a weekly basis for future reference and use. 

Qualifications

Required Education:

Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Earth Systems Science, Geography, Geospatial Engineering, Geophysics, Atmospheric Science, Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.

Required Skills:

• Experience with Terra Sim TerraTools or Presagis Terra Vista 3D Terrain generation software
• Experience with Geospatial Tools: QGIS, Blue Marble Global Mapper, L3Harris ENVI, or ESRI ArcGIS
• Experience and working knowledge of CIGI, DIS, and HLA standards
• Experience with OneSAF, AFSIM, SIMDIS, JBCP, JTLS, FireSIM, and/or BiFrost distributed Simulation software
• Experience with ESRI City Engine, Presagis Creator Pro, 3D Studio Max, Rhino, Maya, Blender, or AutoCAD 3D model development software
• Experience and working knowledge with a variety of data formats including but not limited to: DTED, GeoTIFF, ECW, SHP, JSON, SQLite, KMZ, KML, XML, and DXF
• Experience with Java, Python, TCL, C++, and/or C# programming languages
• Experience working with Structured Query Language (SQL), database management, and Geospatial Database’s on multiple scales

Desired Skills:

• Experience with different Image generators including but not limited to: CATI’s XIG, MVRSim’s VRSG, BISim VBS4/VBS Blue IG, Nightvision Lab’s NVIG Toolset, or MaK’s VT-Mak. Multi-spectral configuration and development within synthetic environments and image generators 
• GIS Certificate preferred 

Required Clearance:

Must have an interim Secret Clearance prior to start of employment with the ability to obtain a full Secret; US Citizenship required
