SAIC is seeking a CMDB Manager to be a critical member of the RITS team providing remote customer support.

This role offers permanent work from home/ remote/ virtual work at home

The primary responsibility for this position is the management and oversight of the enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and collaboration with the ServiceNow team to ensure the CMDB is providing value to the primary customer and subsequent user base, supporting Service Mapping and the relationships that support the enterprise CMDB in the ServiceNow IT service management system. 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) by exhibiting a strong understanding of ITILĀ® v3 or higher best practices and ServiceNow capabilities
  • Defines, creates, monitors, and audits configuration items, data health reports and dashboards.  Facilitate interactions with the CI Service Owners and collaborate with applicable teams and other system owners/managers to remediate discrepancies identified in the CMDB.
  • Utilize all viable available configuration management tools/applications to support configuration identification, accuracy, control, reporting, auditing, remediation, and delivery of assets and configuration items in the ServiceNow CMDB.
  • Collaborate with ServiceNow Development team to ensure foundational data elements are implemented and processes exist to sustain the data in the CMDB and support the ServiceNow team with Discovery and Service Mapping, by ensuring accuracy and quality of data with asset and CI information.
  • Provide recommendations to improve processes, data accuracy, and quality in the CMDB, as well as identify gaps, recommend changes, and implement automation.
  • Under general direction, works independently to manage the Enterprise CMDB and investigate/troubleshoot components of the ServiceNow application, specifically impacts to the CMDB.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Validated completion of ServiceNow courses:
    • Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Fundamentals
    • Common Service Data Model (CSDM) Fundamentals
    • ServiceNow Fundamentals
  • Extensive Experience with ServiceNow System Modules (ITSM, ITAM, ITOM, ITBM and CMDB).
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of related disciplines, including ITIL v3 or above, Agile Methodology, DevSecOps, and Project Management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and research to mitigate/remediate discrepancies within the CMDB.

Required Clearance: 

  • Must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance; Interim Secret required prior to start, SAIC will help to obtain
  • Must be a current US Citizen

Required Certification:

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IAT II compliance certification (Security+ CE or greater), prior to hire.
  • ITIL: Foundations v3 or higher.

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
