DESCRIPTION:  SAIC seeks a Mission Support Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services in Chantilly, VA.  The successful candidate will:

  • Provide secretariat function for the directorate-level system engineering integration boards and management forums
  • Assist other directorate facilitators provide secretariat functions for the Enterprise Integration Board and the Enterprise Integration Council; assist with other headquarters level engineering and integration forums and processes as needed
  • Provide mission support to MOD elements as directed by the government.  This support includes, but not limited to, performing offsite meeting preparation, participating in offsite meetings, providing support to the Chief of Staff and executive officer, providing advice to senior staff and briefing site mission highlights.
  • Attend daily preparation meetings with the Operations Engineering Director
  • Review action reports (TIERS) daily, coordinate and assign to appropriate personnel to develop responses; aid directors action staff when necessary
  • Provide backup support in preparing, reviewing, submitting weekly activity reports for the Office

 

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and five (5) years or more experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Direct and current experience with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO)
  • Knowledge of GEOINT and/or SIGINT overall space and ground architecture
  • Familiar with NRO organizations; working level knowledge of systems engineering processes and forums
  • Detail-oriented self-starter, anticipates and proactively addresses customer requirements with no supervision; expert at defining solutions for broad, abstract topics
  • Able to quickly respond to short-fuse tasks and deliver executive-level products and analysis
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal); impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment
  • Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder
  • Expert with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), MS Outlook, MS Project

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with mission readiness process; familiar with control gates and associated documentation, entry/exit criteria
  • Experience in mission operations environment – ops tempo, launch and initialization, performance characterization, utility analysis, system calibrations
  • Familiar with MBSE/Digital Engineering and associated tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA, Cameo), AGILE development, cloud technologies
