Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Cisco VoIP Network Engineer, onsite, in Ft Knox, Kentucky to support the Human Resources Command to configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot data communications and VoIP telecommunications systems equipment for the Recruiting Command Services (RSN) network to include routers, switches, Gateways, Cisco Call Managers and IP Phones. 

NOTE: This is a pipeline position for future openings with our US Army Human Resource Command. 


  • Provide 24X7 support for all RSN VoIP communications equipment (routers, switches, Gateways, Call Managers, IP Phones and UPS) and circuits in the network
  • Design, development, deployment, problem identification and remediation, local Area Network (LAN) and a Wide Area Network (WAN) to include hardware, software, communications devices, cabling, network topologies and protocols
  • Design and repair Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) devices and operating systems for Cisco and Avaya.
  • Will work independently on large efforts with limited oversight
  • Have a good understanding of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) infrastructure and architecture
  • Determine appropriate circuit types and capacities, as well as, optimal routing
  • Working with computer/network security, network vulnerability, and network risk management, network security software and IP addressing schemes
  • Develop and recommend strategies that will increase reliability, availability, and network uptime



  • Bachelors and 2 years’ of relevant technical experience; experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • Work closely with customer in analyzing requirements and resolving problems
  • Must have strong working experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, and Voice Gateways
  • Must have strong working experience with Cisco Call Manager 12.5, Unity Unified Messaging, gateway dial peer configuration and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunks
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, if called upon to travel, which may involve lifting equipment to complete an installation


  • Must have a current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) OR Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
  • Must have a current Security+ CE certification 


  • Must have an active Secret Clearance
  • Must be a current US Citizen
