Job Description


SAIC is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer on the Horizon Program to support to the US Space Force (USSF) in developing and deploying next-generation and advanced capability space systems within the Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) portfolio.
This position is located at a facility where the systems are developed, integrated, and tested.  Position is available in either Dulles, Virginia or El Segundo, California.
Job Duties Include:
  • Work in an oversight capacity with space system developers who are responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, fabrication, integration, and test evaluation of those systems
  • Decompose technical data into actionable information for Government decision makers
  • Support various systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, verification and validation, integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and physical configuration assessments
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Support the development and refinement of acquisition strategies as well as identifying program execution issues and provide recommendations when possible


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant discipline and 14+ years of related experience in technical program management, systems engineering, and government acquisitions of Space Systems within the Space Control mission area
  • Requires an active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to consent to a polygraph examination
  • Must have experience managing technical programs throughout the engineering life cycle with emphasis in one or more of the following areas:
    • Systems engineering
    • Major Systems Acquisitions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in engineering or Business Administration, professional certification (e.g., professional engineer, PMI PMP, INCOSE CSEP, etc)
  • Experience working in development environment (e.g., U.S. Government weapons system program office)
