Duties
- Monitor and manage Intrusion Prevention Systems
- Support, operate and maintain security tools
- Manage Incident queues using established process
- Review systems and services to ensure they meet operational security requirements
- Develop and maintain documentation
- Plan and implement security changes and upgrades
- Willing to work varied hours to implement off-hours changes and support a highly-available 7x24 operation
Qualifications:
Qualifications
- A strong working knowledge of Intrusion Prevention Systems, Web application security, hard drive encryption, Windows 2003/2008 Microsoft Certificate Authority services, Enterprise web content filtering, Oracle and/or CA ID Management and associated process/workflow creation, and McAfee Anti Virus EPO
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2003/2008, Red Hat Linux, AIX and Sun Solaris 10, Microsoft AD, Sun Enterprise Directory, web/video conferencing security
- Strong enterprise network and infrastructure security knowledge
- Versed in Threat Risk Analysis, vulnerability assessments as well as patch criticality assessments and auditing
- Familiar with security legislation such as HIPA, PIPEDA and FOIP
- Experience creating and enforcing security processes
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Strong documentation skills
- Attention to detail
- Process orientation and mindset
- Industry standard security certification (e.g. CISSP) and ITIL certification desirable
This position requires a Canadian work permit / authorization.
Education & Experience:
Technical diploma/degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline with 3+ years experience with IT security practices, technologies, and their related support processes
