The Defense and Maritime Solutions Business Unit is seeking a Software Application Engineer for the Johnstown, PA office.
Job Description:
Serve as a mid-level Software Application Engineer for ongoing projects providing software analysis, application/data system design and development in support of Federal Government and Department of Defense customers. Duties include: capturing and evaluating customer requirements, software development, evaluating data retrieval processes, code and script development and system configuration management. Performs software analysis, design and tests software developed for our customers. Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters to meet customer requirements. Will be working in a team environment with other developers and functional experts. Will be responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of junior software development staff.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Required Skills and Experience:
2+ years of related experience. Requires abilities to understand customer problems, quickly learn new tools and technologies, and work both independently and part of a team of developers to rapidly deliver customer solutions. Requires direct hands-on experience in working on Java and/or VB.Net projects. Proficiency in installing, set-up, configuration and troubleshoot applications on Windows and/or Linux platform. Requires working knowledge of computer systems to troubleshoot issues and identity common OS, database, and networking environment issues. Requires ability to thoroughly document developed code and develop software design documents and specifications.
Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency with WebLogic, Eclipse, Maven. Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Ability to program data retrieval using SQL.
