SAIC's Information Analytics Technology Division currently has a full-time assignment for a Data Engineer/Analyst with time divided between our SAIC site location and Camp HM Smith MCB in Honolulu, HI.

Join a motivated team of developers, scientists, network engineers and analysts working together to support high priority missions.

Successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and quickly learn new languages, databases, and applications as necessary to address critical technical problems.

Candidate must be able to conceptualize, define, and develop complex data architecture solutions for distributed, multi-level security applications with support from senior engineers/data architects.

Candidate will be required to perform all aspects of ETL in a uniquely collaborative inter-agency environment where critical missions depend on timely processing of large and diverse datasets.

Candidate will work directly with analysts to model data for dozens of end user applications designed to support social network analysis, pattern of life analysis, geospatial analysis, and more. In addition to operational support a successful candidate will provide insights and support to several innovative approaches and applications on our R&D network.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:

-Bachelors or Masters Degree (or equivalent) and 8+ years of related experience.

-Possess a solid understanding of OLAP and OTAP architectures for information management and retrieval

-Must have a current active Top Secret/SCI clearance.

-Experience programming in various languages in support of the ETL process (Java, Perl, Python, C++, etc.).

-Ability to analyze, capture and model data requirements, data definitions, business rules, data quality requirements for conceptual, logical and physical data models.

- Management of parallel corpora building: searching, collecting, translating and aligning translation data for different target applications or federated databases.

- Determining the most appropriate methodology and techniques to model and transform data, including contact of data owners/vendors to determine schema, nuances, and other aspects of the data management/ingestion process

- Experience in database programming with one or more databases to include MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle using JDBC/ODBC/DBI and similar interfaces

- Experience relating to the implications of specific modeling/implementation techniques on SQL and selected NoSQL platforms.

- Able to offer insights into the interpreting of data and common uses of the data in various applications which exist on the DX Enclave.

Desired Qualifications:

-Familiar with JWICS, INTELINK, TAC, LexisNexis, MSRS, HOT-R, Web-Based Data Sources, TAC, NOL, TIDE, Global Trader, Haystack, and similar information networks and data holdings.

-Familiarity implementing web services is a plus.

-Experience with Hadoop (map/reduce) desired, but not critical.

-Experience with Cassandra desired, but not critical.

-Familiar with Palantir, Spotfire or other similar analysis applications desired, but not critical.

-Experience with data pipeline applications such as Twister desired, but not critical.

-Experience with loosely-coupled processing framework environments, such as Spring, pico, and similar would be a plus

-Experience with visualization frameworks such as d3, protoviz, JUNG, gephic, etc. would be a plus

-Supply chain experience and expertise desired, but not critical.

-Experience in data modeling using modeling tools - not essential, but desirable.

-Self-directed, self-starter; able to complete tasks with little or no supervision.

-Must have good communication skills and a strong teamwork and engagement as a project team member.
