Description:
SAIC is looking for an exceptional System Solutions Engineer to join our technically deep and diverse team. You will drive technical solutions as a member of a small and elite team. Within our larger program, team tasks are typically under 12 months in duration, providing a fast paced and dynamic environment, where you rarely do the same thing twice. You must be capable and willing to taking ownership of your projects as you will be responsible for their success.
This is not a system/enterprise architecture position. This is a hands-on, engineering role.
A successful candidate must have a proven ability to identify, quantify, and solve complex problems. You must demonstrate expertise in several of the following skill areas, and have experience in several others:
Linux OS
Linux Device Drivers
Linux Kernel Optimization
Linux Scripting: Bash, Python, ksh
Linux Networking
Schematic Capture
Board Layout
Embedded Software

SAIC’s System Engineering and Integration Mission Solutions Division is responsible for architecting and implementing large scale System of Systems solutions in support of world class simulation products for the U.S. Navy. We are based in Bethesda MD, and our jobs typically require 20% or more travel to U.S. naval bases including but not limited Pearl Harbor, San Diego and Seattle.
Qualifications
:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science is required, as well as 5+ years of professional experience.
US Citizenship is required as the candidate must be able to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
Masters degree, continuing education in electrical engineering or computer science is desirable. Numerical simulations experience and/or exposure to underwater acoustic systems is desired.
