Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC has a career opportunity located in Chamblee, GA. In this position you will be working on a contract for a large federal agency as a full time employee of SAIC. You will be responsible for managing the functionality and efficiency of one or more operating systems. Duties include: setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Schedules, plans, and oversight of system upgrades. Develops functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinates with development team on systematic enhancements or changes. Having the knowledge and experience to be able to handle unusual and seldom occurring job events with minimal assistance. May serve in a lead role and train others.
The Systems Administrator Lead should have experience in the standardization and automation for an environment of 600+ Windows / WinTel Servers and oversee a team of IT Specialists and Technicians performing base hardware configurations, server builds, proficiencies with Windows Server 2003 / 2008
and Active Directory Services, Patch Deployment, configurations and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school education or equivalent and 6+ years of related data processing experience. Knowledge of personal computer and server processes and network operations is preferred.
