JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide system administration expertise for a variety of Linux operating systems and VMWare. Installation and configuration of Linux servers (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL, SUSE – some Windows work may be required). Troubleshoot performance issues. Set up and configure application uptime and performance monitoring. Install, configure and maintain web and Linux-based applications. Install and configure server software, such as database servers, database clients, app servers and software as needed. Complete several security tasks including the testing and application of security patches on operating systems, advise of security alerts for in-use software, such as Apache vulnerabilities, etc. Help maintain development and production environments. Support application migration and source code repository management. Configure SSL MPKI server certificates. Install and replace server hardware which includes and is not limited to memory, HDDs, power supplies, interface cards, etc. Serve as technical team lead for a server team consisting of four to six system administrators.

Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to computer/science/math or four (4) years related experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- In addition to education requirements, a minimum of six (6) years of related experience required.
- Proficient in Linux system and application installation, administration, maintenance, upgrades and support.
- Proficient in SSH, SFTP, HTTP, SSL, MPKI, Apache configuration.
- Proficient in implementation and maintenance of VMWare hosts.
- Proficient in mounting and maintaining external file systems; NAS. Proficient in MYSQL administration.
- Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting performance issues.
- Experience with clustering production environments.
- Experience with hardening environments from a security perspective.
- Experience with application monitoring, uptime, alerts, and availability reporting.

THIS IS AN AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT (ARRA) FUNDED POSITION.

The SAIC-Frederick technical team is seeking systems administration support for the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research (FNLCR) in the Amazon EC2 cloud. The individual will administer multiple programs within the ISP, including caHUB, TCGA and CBIIT that support tissue collection, genomic characterization ad software development for the National Cancer Institute. These tasks will be accomplished on various Linux servers and will require configuring applications and systems. The ideal candidate will have Linux experience and also be familiar with the software development process and J2EE application servers. The position will communicate/coordinate with the program director, project manager, and informatics lead for direction, requirements, and procedures.

Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum three years demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at the squad through company. Recent experience operating in a combat zone in the last four years preferred Military Instructor experience preferred. Currency with TTPs, Lessons Learned, and OPFOR from recent real world operations preferred. Experience in curriculum development desired.

Plans and performs installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for communications equipment, and electronics equipment. Provides technical direction and guidance to lower level technical. Candidate will be responsible for onsite engineering support and servicing of an airborne system as well as depot level assembly, integration and testing of components.

This individual will:
- Participate with other mechanical, electrical, and software engineers on detailed design and development work.
- Provide support for engineering tests and integration of avionics and electrical components and systems.
- Perform engineering duties at customer sites, or OCONUS support post-delivery.
- Post Delivery support will travel to perform engineering duties at customer OCONUS location.

Qualifications:

- External BSEE degree (or equivalent 5 years experience) and 3+ years of work experience in research, installation and fault isolation of avionics systems, mechanical or electronic design and analysis, and product development.

· Understands user features and advises customers of feature availabilities, and

feature interactions.

· Supports PLMR service, issue radios, base stations, and verify service, maintain

inventories and user database information. Provides 1st and 2nd level of trouble

isolation and resolution.

· Trouble shoots circuits, equipment related to PLMR network devices, and LMR

devices including hand held, mounted/mobile, base stations, antennas, and

receivers.

· Provides development support for Statements of Work (SOWs), white papers,

and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

· Provides support related to other wireless devices including cells, pagers, Iridium

phones, and COMSAT equipment.

· Supports customer requirements for Spectrum Management which includes

coordination of frequency use and approvals through the Navy Marine Corps

Spectrum Management Office (NMCSO).

· Conducts infrastructure analysis and develop a communications plan to support

LMR throughout Hawaii

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and 2+ years experience with Navy Electronic Systems. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. Must have at least 2 years of experience working with LMR's.

- Must have an active Secret Security Clearance

- Must have knowledge of all phases of LMR and PACMERS.

- Must have experience working with the Navy’s LMR program.

- Must have experience of equipment repair and maintenance procedures.

- Must have mechanical aptitude.

Successful candidate will join a growing, high-performance team in a well-equipped laboratory performing applied research and development in electro-optical technology. The successful candidate will work under the engineers' direction, and design basic circuitry and draft sketches to clarify details of design documentation, as well as build prototypes from rough sketches or plans.

Other duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Make parts, such as coils and terminal boards, by using bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools. Construct cables and solder.

Complete CAD drafting, design and modeling. Put together, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics. Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical devices such as fixtures, and optical mounts.

Adjust and replace defective circuitry and electronics components. Calibrate and operate electronic test equipment.

Qualifications:

Candidate must have 2+ years of experience working in a lab environment.

Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, and knowledge of AutoCAD is desirable.

• Experience in Photodetectors and photodetector circuits, high-speed low-noise transimpedance amplifier design, high speed comparator circuits, instrumentation amplifier design, on-board power management, MOSFET driver design, LED current driver design (analog), laser diode driver design, mechanical design of fieldable systems.
• Skill in PC Board layout: ORCAD, fine pitch, RF circuits, multilayer boards, surface mount and through hole, knowledge of state-of-the-art component and connector interfaces, product generation suitable for release to PCB manufacturers
• Conducts risk reduction experiments by carrying out feasibility studies for EO technical innovations
• Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
• Support Government and contractor team engineers and scientists in EO system modeling, phenomenology studies, sensor design, sensor integration, sensor data collection, data processing, exploitation, sensor fusion, and generation of sensor products.
- Assures System Quality Control: Test protocol generation, instrumentation, testing and test products

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
8+ years of relevant experience
Current Secret Clearance
- Able to work in a dynamic Team environment
• Knowledge of design applications (i.e. Orcad)
• Skill in CAD (extensive), 3-D modeling and 3-D printers
• Perform Digital design: Digital logic design using all families of logic hardware.
• SPICE modeling: Design and analysis skills, frequency response and noise optimization using vendor component models.

SAIC is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to work within our Servicing, Maintenance and Repair team based in Cambridge.

The individual will under general supervision perform troubleshooting and maintenance on a line of non-intrusive inspection systems including the Vehicle & Cargo Inspection System (VACIS), SAIC Exploranium Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs) and Reveal Imaging Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) to inspect baggage and parcels for airport and facility security. Reveal’s EDS system, the first designed since 9/11, is significantly more cost effective and space efficient than current systems. Other systems may be added to the list as required. The VACIS detection system is available in both Gamma and X-Ray forms, can be mounted on a vehicle or static of which there are a number of variations. The gamma system uses an ionising radiation source and an array of sodium iodide detectors to perform density mapping of large cargo containers and other vehicles. The X-Ray system is similar but uses a high energy X-Ray generator. The RPM systems are passive detectors monitoring traffic at various locations. The Reveal EDS systems are X-Ray based systems located at major airports throughout the world.

The FSE will be required to respond to calls for corrective maintenance and perform scheduled maintenance of all systems, travelling to installation sites throughout the UK and other locations which may involve travel to the rest of the World and often at short notice. Close liaison with design engineers will also be required to identify potential issues.

Duties Include:

- Troubleshooting and maintenance

- Responding to calls for corrective maintenance

- Be available for the on-call rota (weekdays & weekends)

- Performing scheduled maintenance

- Upkeep of all systems

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess:
