<item><title>Field Service Engineer Job (Cambridge, ENG, GB)</title><description><![CDATA[Field Service Engineer   (Job Number:318813)<br/><br/><b>Description:</b><br/><br/><br/><br/>SAIC is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to work within our Servicing, Maintenance and Repair team based in Cambridge.<br/><br/>The individual will under general supervision perform troubleshooting and maintenance on a line of non-intrusive inspection systems including the Vehicle & Cargo Inspection System (VACIS), SAIC Exploranium Radiation Portal Monitors (RPMs) and Reveal Imaging Explosive Detection Systems (EDS) to inspect baggage and parcels for airport and facility security. Reveal&#8217;s EDS system, the first designed since 9/11, is significantly more cost effective and space efficient than current systems.  Other systems may be added to the list as required.  The VACIS detection system is available in both Gamma and X-Ray forms, can be mounted on a vehicle or static of which there are a number of variations.  The gamma system uses an ionising radiation source and an array of sodium iodide detectors to perform density mapping of large cargo containers and other vehicles.  The X-Ray system is similar but uses a high energy X-Ray generator.  The RPM systems are passive detectors monitoring traffic at various locations.  The Reveal EDS systems are X-Ray based systems located at major airports throughout the world.<br/><br/>The FSE will be required to respond to calls for corrective maintenance and perform scheduled maintenance of all systems, travelling to installation sites throughout the UK and other locations which may involve travel to the rest of the World and often at short notice.
